Twenty minutes to Gore
Gore Mountain is a twenty-minute drive. Self check-in by keypad, so a 9 p.m. arrival after a full day on the hill is not a problem.
How a three-storey chalet stays warm
There is a wood stove in the main living room and heating throughout. There is no central air conditioning, which matters in July and not at all in January.
What is quiet in winter
The lake is still there in the winter, and there is almost nobody on it. Hike, fish, or sit at the dining-room window and watch it not move.
Why book here instead of Airbnb
You are dealing with the owner, not a platform. If you need a late checkout, an extra cot, or the kayaks pulled out before you arrive, you ask Dyann and Dyann decides. There is no support queue and no policy page between you and the person who owns the house.
You see the whole number before you pay. Nights, cleaning, the damage fee, NY State & Local Sales Tax and Warren County Occupancy Tax, all on one screen, all before you enter a card. Nothing appears at the last step.
The rate is set here. We publish a book-direct rate on this site. It is ours to set, it does not depend on anyone else’s pricing, and what you see is what you pay.
We are not asking you to stop using Airbnb. The listing is still there, it is where the reviews live, and you are welcome to book that way. This is just the shorter route.
